Campbell Bower stars in Dutch Winter in Wartime
Sweeney Todd’s actor stars as a wounded RAF-pilot in new Dutch wartime epic produced by Els Vandevorst’s Isabella Films (Sea of Silence) and San Fu Maltha’s Fu Works (Black Book) and directed by Martin Koolhoven. “I was absolutely thrilled to get the part, and I can’t wait to start work on such an exciting project,” states Campbell Bower.
Dutch actor Yorick van Wageningen is co-starring in his first Dutch spoken part since his departure to Hollywood, five years ago. He was seen next to Colin Farrell in The New World, next to Angelina Jolie in Beyond Borders and starred with Vin Diesel in The Chronicles of Riddick. “When I read the script I was sold. It’s a beautiful and timeless story. I gladly return to Holland for this film. I’m also very thrilled to work with director Martin Koolhoven” states Van Wageningen.
Young Dutch actor Martijn Lakemeier makes his screen debut as Michiel, a Dutch teenager trying to survive the last winter of World War II. Martin Koolhoven (Schnitzel Paradise, Bonkers) is directing. The Euro 5m budgeted project is produced by Els Vandevorst and San Fu Maltha in association with the Netherlands Film Fund, Broadcast Company MAX, Inspire Pictures, CoBo Fund, VTM, VAF, Eurimages in co-production with Prime Time (Antonino Lombardo). Director of photography is Guido van Gennep (Schnitzel Paradise).
Shooting starts next week in Lithuania. Winter in Wartime is based on the best seller and much awarded novel by Dutch politician Jan Terlouw.
